This training will cover heat pump domestic hot water heaters as well as heat pumps as hydronic boiler replacements. For heat pump water heaters (HPWHs), Doug will discuss winter performance, dehumidification, tank sizes, etc.
For air-source heat pumps as space heating boiler replacements, Doug will discuss temperature and efficiency challenges, the importance of heating load calculations and benefits of weatherization.
For both types of systems, he will discuss differences in efficiency measuring systems, brands, costs, installation factors, and other practical considerations. Doug will be joined by Andy Duncan to mention current incentives for HPWH and space-heating heat pumps, as well as Lakes Region Community College’s new TREC training program, including heat pumps.
